Quince EXTRA Jam

The quince pears are a truly interesting fruit, both for their sensory characteristics and for their excellent nutritional qualities. A rare and fragrant fruit, originating from the warm temperate regions of southwestern Asia. It is a seasonal product available from autumn to winter. When ripe, it has a beautiful golden yellow color. The light yellow pulp is firm in texture. The seeds, on the other hand, are numerous and arranged in the central part, similar to common apples and pears. Quince pears have a rather tangy or otherwise very pronounced flavor, which is why they are more often consumed cooked.

Quince pears are rich in nourishing substances and minerals, such as potassium, copper, selenium, zinc, phosphorus, calcium, iron, and magnesium. The fat content is negligible. Both the pulp and peel contain good amounts of fiber. Also relevant are the quantities of certain astringent phytochemical compounds, the tannins.

Extremely fragrant and sweet, quince pear jam is a delightful preparation to be used in both sweet and savory dishes.
